Stansfields workshop is steeped in history with records dating back over 130 years.
For many years Stansfields were a major manufacturer of dobby and jacquard hand looms.
Examples can be found in local and regional museums . Several were in use as pattern
looms at the University of Huddersfield until recently.
In 1996 production was started again for export to Brunei.
 
A number of looms are available. In addition new custom built floor looms can be made to order.
The emphasis has now moved away from  carpentry and joinery to custom made sculptured shelving using native hardwoods.
